เจาะลึก Avatar: Seven Havens: เนื้อเรื่อง การสร้าง และเสียงวิจารณ์

Avatar: Seven Havens is an American animated fantasy action television series created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko for Paramount+. It serves as a sequel series to Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005–2008) and The Legend of Korra (2012–2014). It follows Avatar Pavi, as she and her long-lost twin sister Avatar Nisha, the successors and reincarnations of Korra, uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens: the central pillars of civilization, in a new and perilous era.

The principal voice cast includes Saheli Khan as Avatar Pavi, alongside Aishu Devan, Akshay Khanna, Major Curda, Sakina Jaffrey, Darren Barnet, Dianne Doan, and Dee Bradley Baker. Creatives from both The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra returned, including Jeremy Zuckerman creating original music and Ethan Spaulding, who was a story artist and director on both shows, executive producing. The series is produced by Nickelodeon Animation and Avatar Studios, and La Chouette Compagnie provides animation.

The first season of Avatar: Seven Havens, titled "Book 1: Survival ", premiered on October 9, 2026, on Paramount+, with its first three episodes. The other ten episodes will be released weekly in batches of three to four episodes through October 30. Three additional seasons have also been ordered.

Premise

Avatar: Seven Havens, set 225 years after the end of The Legend of Korra, follows a 9-year-old Earthbender, Pavi, who discovers that she is the next Avatar after Korra. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies and viewed as a destroyer instead of a savior, she and her long-lost twin sister, Nisha, must uncover their strange origins and save the Seven Havens, the central pillars of civilization risen from a world shattered by an apocalyptic event, before it is too late.

Cast and characters

Saheli Khan as Pavi: a young orphan living in the city of Ellora, who learns that she is the next Avatar, after Korra.

Aishu Devan as Nisha: Pavi's long-lost twin sister and twin Avatar, who works along with her to uncover their origins, which are shrouded in mystery.

Major Curda as Jae: an airbender and city guard platoon leader who travels with Pavi and Nisha.

Dee Bradley Baker as Geet and Ruhi: Pavi and Nisha's respective pet cat-monkeys.

Akshay Khanna as Karthik: an airbender captain of Ellora's city guard and Nisha's guardian.

Darren Barnet as Daemin: a member of Jae's platoon.

Other characters include Agam (Sakina Jaffrey) and Zi (Dianne Doan).

Development

In 2018, Netflix announced that a live-action remake of Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005–2008) was to start production in 2019. The series' original creators, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, were initially announced to be the executive producers and showrunners. In June 2020, the creators departed the series due to creative differences. That same year, Nickelodeon licensed the original The Last Airbender as well as The Legend of Korra (2012–2014) to Netflix, which led to a boom in popularity for both series. This success convinced Nickelodeon to rekindle their relationship with Konietzko and DiMartino and explore further opportunities.

In February 2021, ViacomCBS announced during its annual Investor Day the formation of Avatar Studios, a new division of Nickelodeon dedicated to the creation of projects based on animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. The series creators and executive producers Konietzko and DiMartino would serve as co-chief creative officers. In late 2024, Knight Edge Media reported that a new Avatar series following the story of the Avatar after Korra was in production at Avatar Studios. The report coincided with leaked plot details and production materials across social media. According to the leaks, the series would star 9-year-old twin earthbender sisters, with one of them being the Avatar.

In February 2025, the series, titled Avatar: Seven Havens, was officially announced for a two-season and 26-episode pick-up at Nickelodeon to coincide with the original series' 20th anniversary. DiMartino and Konietzko were reported to be creators and executive producers on the new series. Executive producing were Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. Nickelodeon Animation and Avatar Studios produce. A first look image of the series debuted at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2025. Alexandra Chiu was the supervising director for the series.

On October 9, 2026, the same day as the series premiere, at New York Comic-Con, the series was renewed for a third and a fourth season.

Casting

In July 2026, along with the first trailer, it was revealed that the voice cast would feature Saheli Khan as Avatar Pavi, alongside Aishu Devan, Akshay Khanna, Major Curda, Sakina Jaffrey, Darren Barnet, Dianne Doan, and Dee Bradley Baker in starring roles and supporting roles.

Animation, design and music

The animation is provided by La Chouette Compagnie, a French animation studio. According to DiMartino and Konietzko, the series' art direction was influenced by French surrealist artist Mœbius and 1990s anime. Avatar: Seven Havens music was composed by Jeremy Zuckerman, who previously scored Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra with Benjamin Wynn.

Release

Avatar: Seven Havens was ordered for two seasons, or "books" of thirteen episodes each. The first season premiered on October 9, 2026, on Paramount+ with its first three episodes, and is titled Survival. The rest of the season will be released in three to four episode batches from October 16 to 30. Originally set to broadcast in 2027, during San Diego Comic-Con in July 2026 it was announced that series would premiere earlier on Paramount+, on the same day that the Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender film was originally scheduled to release.

Reception

On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the series holds an approval rating of 100%, based on 16 reviews, with an average of rated reviews of 8.2/10. Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned a score of 82 out of 100 based on 9 critics, indicating "universal acclaim."
